#tdc4930 #ds106 Embrace Your Geekness Day

Geekiness comes very naturally to me, with basically unlimited access to the internet and various creative outlets I have always been very nerdy. I love how much stuff there is in the creative space and the communities that are associated with it.

One thing I love is video games. There creativity that does into video games is endless. With handwork and dedication some of the best medias are video games with their direction and interaction. On my switch one of the fun (and free!) games is a Capcom Arcade emulator that has all the old games that anyone is free to play. The music and animation is one of my favourites as it is a bit of a homage to older arcade games in a neat aesthetic.

#tdc2400 #ds106 These Feet Were Made For Walking

Believe it or not I rarely take videos and my lovely friends came to visit from the lower mainland as such we went on a hike at the East Sooke Regional Park. It was amazing and easy as it was just a loop trail. But being the children we are we had to climb rocks and skip rocks at the beach. The views where stunning we got to walk and catch up for a while which we don’t often get as adults.

#tdc3497 #ds106 Freedom and its limits

Freedom is a living beings right. Humans unfortunately have made it far too difficult for freedom to be accessible to all. It feels like it is constantly a fight to be on the right side and more in a fashion that supports both liberation and mutual benefit.

As in ths gif I took at Miniature World, with the way the world is advertised to be a class vs class issue often we forget that its 90% of the world against 10% of stupidly rich people and as we try to fight for freedom we are limited in our own courage to break from the cycle and fight this group of overly powerful people. We have done it before we can do it again.

#tdc5267 #ds106 #dailycreate Create a Blob and Give It a Name

This daily create asks us to use the website https://www.blobmaker.app/ to ” Create a Blob and Give It a Name”.

When do this I ran into Birdenda, she had just finished pruning and got a new hat to show off. An icon truly, beautiful bird brain.

#tdc5272 #ds106 #dailycreate Heart-breakingly beautiful

In this daily create, they ask that we “Photograph something commonly considered ugly and make it heart-breakingly beautiful.” And while I don’t think bugs are inherently ugly they definitely not the most flattering creatures to exist. But isn’t is so beautiful that each bug has their own patterns and color pattern, like they care about how they look and must be beautiful in their own way.

#tdc5274 #ds106 #dailycreate Draw a black cat

Pretty self explanatory, we are taught how to draw a cat from a silly tutorial. It was very fun to try and draw black cats in all types of positions.

#tdc5194 #ds106 #dailycreate Text Weave

In this daily create, we use this link https://thehtml.review/03/weaving-web/ to ‘weave’ words into a pattern, I choose to use a quote that I like: Everything happens at all the time, and also not at all. Time passes anyway. It was very interesting to see what it turned out be:

Honestly it looks like a bunch of whole half filled wine glasses and broken pieces all over.

#tdc5132 #ds106 Last Letter

This Daily Creates asks: “The postal service is closing down. What will you send as your final letter?” My last letter would be to my little sister.

My sister and I are many years apart, when she was born I was about to turn 17 years old. She may grow up to be my best friend but we have a lot of years to make up the time and even if she gets older we grow apart or I get too old she will always have something to look back on and have proof that I love her with my whole life.

#tdc5218 #ds106 #dailycreate Write an Alphabet story.

In this Daily Creates we are asked: “In an alphabet story, each line begins with the letters of the alphabet in order. How much of the alphabet can you cover?”

All that exists in a

Barren land, were rocks and tumbleweed whisking away in the wind.

Can no one seem to get the land to prosper.

Deciding, enough is enough.

Everyone decided in that moment,

For there to be vegetation again, they would have to care for the land together.

Gathering seeds and hope, they set out before sunrise.

Hands doing all the work of digging and pushing,

In every row of soil they tilled, routine became to add a seed and hope for a fortune.

Just when the wind tried to scatter their work, they had to keep going on and on.

Keeping faith, they watered the soil day after day.

Little by little, tiny green sprouts began to push through the dust.

Maybe as there was nothing to loose,

No one really complained about all the work they had left to do.

Over time, the cracked ground softened beneath their feet,

Probably with impatience, people hurried to see rows and rows of plants blossoming.

“Quite the turnout it seems” said one townsman,

“Really, this is a miracle! Let us harvest”

Soon, wildflowers painted the valley in colors no one remembered,

Trees took root, and vegetables started to grow in bundles, with abundance.

Under their branches, children played where tumbleweeds once rolled.

Very soon, the barren land became a place of life, and lots and lots of abundance.

“Well, teamwork really makes the dream work huh”

“Xanadu truly”

Years later, the people would tell the story of how hope grew from dry soil.

Zero parts of the land were forgotten, loved and made prosperous.

Sit with me and wait.

“Water flows from high places to low places. That is the nature of gravity. Emotions also seem to act according to gravity. When in the presence of someone with whom you have a bond, and to whom you have entrusted your feelings, it is hard to lie and get away with it. The truth just wants to come flowing out. This is especially the case when you are trying to hide your sadness or vulnerability. It is much easier to conceal sadness from a stranger, or from someone you don’t trust.”
